BRIDGE — Exam Prep

EE Foundations Bridge

The core subjects of a first-year Electrical Engineering curriculum, taught natively — Kirchhoff, calculus, fields, logic, code, statistics, and signals. Your on-ramp from the certificates to the full Go Deeper pathway.

Community content — not verified by a licensed electrician. Lessons and questions here are written for study practice and pinned to NEC 2023. Code editions and local amendments vary by jurisdiction. Always confirm against your adopted code book and your licensing board's published exam outline before test day.
Exam guide

What to expect

Not a licensing exam — a readiness check for university-level study.

Concept-heavy multiple choice; light arithmetic, no formula sheet needed.

Each unit maps to a full free course (MIT OCW / MITx / edX / CS50) listed in Go Deeper.

Pass mark: 70% — pass it and you're ready to start the Semester 1 courses.

How to study

→ Lean on what you already own: KVL is series circuits grown up, Faraday is why transformers (Unit 3.1) work at all.

→ Don't memorize — these units reward understanding the idea, not the number.

→ After passing, start with Calculus and Boolean Algebra in Go Deeper; everything else builds on those two.

Each attempt draws 30 questions at random from the 40-question bank, so no two sittings are the same. Unanswered questions score zero, and the exam auto-submits when the clock runs out — just like the real thing. That works out to about 70 seconds per question.
